Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for a Temporary Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to work at our Retail Centre located in Langley, BC.

This position is covering a medical leave as well as a maternity leave for an unknown duration. The position will minimally cover until November 2027.

What you will do:

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will support our pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient patient care while providing exceptional customer service. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy and contribute to an outstanding patient experience.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming experience for every patient.
  • Support pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Process prescriptions, refill requests, and patient information using pharmacy software.
  • Direct clinical and medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain medication and supply inventory, including receiving orders, stocking shelves, and removing expired products.
  • Contact patients regarding prescription pickups and manage unclaimed prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Keep the dispensary clean, organized, and compliant with health, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to support efficient daily operations and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy and its patients

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations as well as have:

  • Diploma from a recognized Pharmacy Technician Training course
  • Pharmacy experience in a dispensary working a minimum of 1,000 hours is an asset
  • Pharmacy salesperson/OTC Associate with a minimum of 1,000 hours is an asset
  • Strong understanding of computer applications and Microsoft Word
  • Strong aptitude to adapt to dispensary functions
  • Must be available 7 days a week to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings
  • This position is based at the Langley Retail Centre, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
