Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Meat Cutter at our Mt Lehman Food Store located in Abbotsford, BC.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Meat Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following: 

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
  • Cut, trim, and otherwise prepare standard cuts of meat, poultry, fish and shellfish for sale
  • Grind meats using powered grinders and slicing machines
  • Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats, poultry or fish and may wrap prepared meats, poultry, fish and shellfish
  • Prepare/package product for sale
  • Stock product to cases and shelves
  • Loading and unloading of product.
  • Perform clean up duties as required
  • Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

  • Previous meat cutter experience is required
  • Motivation to learn and grow within the role
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills, and be able to work efficiently in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
  • This is a physical job requiring the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Must be available 7 days a week to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, afternoons and evenings
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  • MUST have open availability and able to work a variety of shifts that include mornings, afternoons, late evenings and weekends
  • This position is based at the Mt Lehman Food Store, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
