Otter Co-op is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Health & Safety Coordinator  located in Langley, BC travelling to support our other locations across the lower mainland, Fraser Valley and Interior regions of BC.

This role plays a key part in maintaining and enhancing our well-established health and safety programs across multiple sites in the Greater Vancouver, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and Interior regions of BC.

Reporting to the Vice President of People & Culture, the Health & Safety Coordinator provides guidance, coordination, and expertise to ensure a consistent and proactive approach to workplace health, safety, and wellness. The ideal candidate is a trusted partner who builds strong relationships, communicates effectively, and represents the Otter Co-op brand with positivity and professionalism.

What you'll do:

  • Support and enhance existing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Wellness Coordinator on WCB claims administration and the development and support of return-to-work (RTW) programs.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, investigations, and audits, and support COR initiatives and corrective action planning.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and team members to identify and mitigate workplace hazards and risks.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training, orientations, and certifications (e.g., WHMIS, TDG, First Aid).
  • Lead and facilitate two Joint Health & Safety Committees and ensure effective follow-up and communication.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes (Federal and Provincial) and recommend updates to policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze reports, identify trends, and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a positive, professional, and supportive manner.

Who you are:
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a multi-site or retail environment.
  • Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health and safety best practices.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted partner and represent the brand with care and integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with safety management systems.
  • Class 5 driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract required.
  • Ability to travel regularly to Otter Co-op sites across the Greater Vancouver, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and Interior regions of BC (company vehicle provided).
