Otter Co-op is now hiring two Full-Time Junior Accountants for our ACU Administrative Building located in Langley, BC.

What you’ll do:

  • Assists in reporting and schedules for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assists senior team members in the preparation and review of reports and financial statements
  • Perform general and cost accounting activities through assisting in the preparation and analysis of budgeting/forecasting, cost reports. balance sheets, general ledgers and accounts payable/receivable 
  • Support the planning, preparation, and documentation for the auditing process
  • Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  • Other duties as assigned

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Finance and:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or related
  • Previous retail and/ or office experience an asset
  • Entry level bookkeeping and accounting skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (including MS office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint)
  • Proficient accurate typing and data entry skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Above average attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-starter and team player with a high level of self-discipline and initiative
  • Creative and effective problem-solving ability, with a willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Able to prioritize and organize position responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal          supervision
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  • Able to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs
  • Must be available for an 8 hour shift Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm
  • This position is based out of ACU Administration Building, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
