Otter Co-op is now hiring for a Full-Time Pharmacy Manager for our Parallel Food Store located in Abbotsford, BC.

What you’ll do:

The Pharmacy Manager’s main responsibility is to maintain the highest professional level of customer service standards, through consistent and thorough patient care. This entails developing and maintaining an atmosphere of customer service friendliness that will foster clientele building and sustained profitable growth for the unit. The Pharmacy Manager is also responsible for the accuracy, efficiency and integrity towards company policies and legislative regulations in the pharmacy unit.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Division Manager, the Pharmacy Manager is responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily pharmacy operations, including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and inventory management.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant pharmacy regulations, standards, and guidelines set forth by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare providers and patients to promote optimal pharmaceutical care.
  • Monitoring prescription accuracy, drug interactions, and patient medication profiles to ensure safe and effective use of medications.
  • Managing inventory levels, ordering, and stock rotation to prevent product shortages and minimize waste.
  • Implementing and promoting wellness programs, vaccination services, and other patient-focused initiatives.
  • Handling customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and exceptional customer service.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including prescription and patient profiles, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute and lead the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Pharmaceuticals:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
  • Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a registered pharmacist, with 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Thorough understanding of pharmacy regulations, drug interactions, and patient confidentiality.
  • Proficient in pharmacy software systems and technology.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and promoting wellness services.
  • Flexibility to work 7 days a week, including some weekends and evenings.
  • This position is based out of the Parallel Food Store, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise.
