Ruminant Nutritionist - FT (Aldergrove)

Otter Co-op is accepting applications for a Full-Time Ruminant Nutritionist. This position will be based out of our Feed Mill located in Langley, BC.

We’re looking for an early-career Ruminant Nutritionist who is passionate about dairy and livestock, eager to learn, and excited to grow within a supportive, team-first environment. This role is designed for someone at the beginning of their journey—someone we can mentor and develop into a trusted dairy nutrition advisor.

What you will do:
You’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of our feed and nutrition business, working closely with experienced team members:

Nutrition & On-Farm Support
  • Assist in developing and evaluating ruminant (dairy-focused) feeding programs
  • Support on-farm visits alongside senior nutritionists and sales staff
  • Help troubleshoot herd performance and contribute practical solutions
Regulatory Affairs
  • Support compliance with Canadian feed regulations and product registrations
  • Assist with label reviews, documentation, and audit preparation
Quality Control
  • Participate in feed quality assurance programs
  • Help monitor ingredient quality and investigate any issues
  • Contribute to maintaining Otter Co-op’s high standards
Sales Team Support
  • Provide technical support to our feed sales team
  • Assist in building strong relationships with local producers
  • Help translate nutrition knowledge into practical, customer-focused solutions

Who you are:

  • Recent graduate (or soon-to-be graduate) in Animal Science. M.Sc. is preferred
  • Strong interest in dairy and ruminant nutrition
  • Eager to learn, ask questions, and take initiative
  • Comfortable working both in-office and on farms
  • Strong communicator who enjoys working with people
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow
  • Able to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • This position is based at our Feed Mill in Langley, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
